Tips & Tricks

Follow these simple tips and tricks and you'll be sure to have the spookiest pumpkin on your street...



Pumpkin Size/Shape

Choose a pumpkin shape and size which best suits your chosen design. I.e. a tall stencil for a tall pumpkin.

Stencil Size

If the design is too small or too large, why not photocopy/scan it and reduce or enlarge the design to fit perfectly.

A Pretty Face

Choose a pumpkin which isn’t too bruised and has a flatter face. This makes it easier to see the design once it’s transferred.

Staying Alive

To make your pumpkin last longer than just a handful of days, rub a little petroleum jelly on the carved edges to lock in the moisture!

Refrigerate

When your pumpkin isn’t on display, pop a plastic bag over it and then pop it in the fridge and this will prolong its life.

Resurrect

If you pumpkin has begun to shrink, it's not too late! Submerge in a bucket of cold water for 3-5 hours. Then dry with a towel.
